The
Family and Youth yoga classes will guide
children and youths ages 3-18 through many
postures linked to nature.
Children are naturals for yoga and these classes will be a
fun time for them. The practice of yoga inspires in children a
sense of self and brings focus and concentration to their lives. Yoga
is a great way to improve self-esteem, concentration and
relationships.

Yoga also improves motor skills and
Yoga calms and strengthens the nervous system, improves motor
skills, contributes to increased patterns of balance and overall
good health. An attuned body translates to an attuned mind,
which translates to better performance in school, better
performance in sports and improved relationships.
Yoga classes for children are fun, interactive and full of
rewards. Learning valuable stress management skills and
encouraging balance in the body from an early age creates good
habits for children to carry into their teen years and beyond.
Youth classes are offered through Westport Continuing Education
(www.westportcontinuinged.com).
Parent/child and family yoga classes are offered at Agape Yoga
Studio or in the convenience of your own home.
Parent/child
classes: 3– 4 yrs
These classes will focus more on the child. Parents are
encouraged to “play yoga with them”. Children will actively
participate in a kind of play that makes them stronger, calmer &
more confident. Children naturally imitate the world around them
& the postures we will perform will stimulate their imagination
along with enhancing their physical & neurological skills. They
will also learn breathing & relaxation techniques while being
guided with visualizations.
Family Yoga:

Bend, breathe and bond as a family! These classes will give
families the opportunity to spend time as a family, relax,
exercise and be with each other. We offer a one hour class in
the privacy of your own home for any combination. Pricing is the
same as Private classes.
Kids Only Classes: 3-6 yrs
What fun this class will be for you! It’s a great way to
improve concentration, motor skills & self-esteem. You will be
guided through many postures that are linked to nature & things
around you. With yoga you can twist like a pretzel, soar like a
rocket, roar like a lion, unfold like a flower & much more! You
will use your natural energy & skills to become more flexible,
strong, focused & you will also learn to honor your body.
Teen Yoga: 13 – 18 yrs
Yoga
promotes unification of the body and mind. You will gain
strength, flexibility & coordination. You will develop the
ability to look within, think for yourself & trust the knowledge
inside. Yoga will teach you patience, self-acceptance,
breathing, relaxation & stress-relieving techniques. The classes
will also help you build your confidence level, self-esteem,
focus and concentration.
Elementary School: 7-10
yrs

Middle School: 11-15 yrs
This class will guide you towards a calming, centering
practice of yoga to help you find self-acceptance, confidence &
learn to become grounded. Adolescence can be a time of struggle
& alienation, but it can also be a time of transition & the
awakening of endless possibilities. Yoga will challenge you to
trust yourself & stay present in your life. You will gain
strength, flexibility, coordination & concentration.
